17.8

In April, 2025, Help Lightning released 17.8 of its server and client SDKs. This brings in several major new features including:

  • AI Features
  • Live Captions
  • Many UX Enhancements

Server Changes

The RESTful API has several new APIs and no deprecations.

The following are new APIs that may be useful:

Client SDK Changes

There have been new client SDK releases for the following platforms:

  • Web
  • Android
  • iOS

The SDKs include several new features, including:

  • Live Captions
  • AI Features
  • Audio Re-enablement in Call Center Mode
  • Many UX Improvements

Web SDK

The 17.8 SDK for the web is versioned as 5.22.x with the latest version being 5.22.1.

New features:

  • Ability to switch to “audio on” during calls that start in call center mode
  • AI Features

iOS SDK

The 17.8 SDK for iOS is versioned as 17.8.x with the latest version being 17.8.0.

New features:

  • AI Features
  • Live Captions with Translation
  • Audio can be turned on in call center mode

Android SDK

The 17.8 SDK for Android is versioned as 3.8.x with the latest version being 3.8.2.

New features:

  • Ability to switch to “audio on” during calls that start in call center mode;
  • UI enhancements for Quick Knowledge returned by the AI, including full-screen previews.
